Camiral's Stadium Course sits on wooded, rolling ground near Caldes de Malavella, inland from Girona. Neil Coles and Ángel Gallardo created a championship course that opened in 1999 and quickly earned a place among Spain's most important golfing tests. It hosted three Spanish Opens and has been chosen as the venue for the 2031 Ryder Cup.
There is a particular balance between the scale of the golf and the intimacy created by trees. Fairways may look tempting, then a lake, bunker or elevated green complicates the next shot. The wooded landscape means sightlines and landing areas change as the round unfolds. Several holes present a shot through trees followed by an approach to a strongly protected target. The thirteenth shows the architecture's character: it rewards sound placement and then a committed approach, while the more visible hazards can tempt an unnecessarily bold choice.
Stadium is particularly satisfying for confident ball-strikers who also accept that the safest strategy can produce the better score. Golfers travelling with very mixed handicaps should choose suitable tees; the forward options allow the group to enjoy the same routing without reproducing tournament length. Architecture, History and Golfing Identity
The Stadium hosted the Spanish Open in 2000, 2009 and 2014, with Miguel Ángel Jiménez taking the latter title after a playoff. In 2022 Adri Arnaus won the Catalunya Championship after a long playoff at Camiral. The 2031 Ryder Cup selection makes it a future global venue, but the championship history already established it as much more than a prospect. Camiral's separate Tour Course opened in 2005 and is not the Ryder Cup Stadium routing.

Camiral Tour offers a second round on the same resort with a more accommodating overall scale. Empordà Forest changes the rhythm into sheltered pine corridors, and Empordà Dunes opens into wind and lakes near Gualta. An overnight at Hotel Camiral makes Stadium a proper golfing day; El Prat Pink is a separate extension near Terrassa, not a club beside Girona.
Stadium's historical record makes the course the natural centrepiece of a stay at Camiral. Hotel Camiral and the resort's practice facilities allow a group to devote the day to golf rather than a transfer between venues. A second round on Tour brings a less severe test on the same property, while a longer itinerary can move on to Empordà's pine-lined Forest or open Dunes. The 2031 Ryder Cup adds a significant future chapter, but the course's older Spanish Open history already gives it an identity of its own.

Stadium plays to par 72 from four tees: 65 at 6,530 metres, 60 at 6,042, 56 at 5,632 and 49 at 4,999. The 65 tee carries a course rating of 76.0 and slope of 155, underscoring how challenging the longest configuration can be. An official handicap certificate is required for visitor play.
The 2026 Stadium Premium Package is €192 in high season (April–May and 9 September–October), €161 in mid season (March and June–8 September) and €143 in low season (January–February and November–December). Buggy use is compulsory on Stadium and included in the package; driving-range balls are charged separately.
